Parkside Home

The parents of this energetic household wanted to enhance the flow and function of their first floor spaces to better suit their busy lives. The catalyst for this remodel was the kitchen, but with good space planning we were able to transform the whole back entry. We started by relocating the laundry room to an underutilized home office. The former laundry room was then opened up to the back entrance hall where we created a landing area for coats, shoes and sports gear. The expanded hall also provided an opportunity for a message center and pantry storage. A redesign of the kitchen increased function as well as adding beauty to the heart of the home. A new furniture plan with a mix of new and antique furniture transformed a seldom used living room into a central gathering spot.
